#56 - How to convert website visitors into customers with high-converting copy!

3 min. 25 sec.

Why did the web designer go broke? … Because he used Lorem Ipsum instead of real copy!

Hey Boss 👋

Your website is your 24/7 salesperson—but is it actually selling?
If visitors land on your site and leave without taking action, your copy might be the problem.

Great design grabs attention, but it’s your words that close the deal. Today, I’m breaking down how to write website copy that makes visitors stick around, trust you, and, most importantly—become paying clients. Let’s go!

How to write website copy that converts 📝

Your website needs to do three things: attract, engage, and convert. Here’s how to make sure your copy gets the job done:

1. Speak to Your Ideal Client 🎯

If you try to appeal to everyone, you’ll connect with no one.

👉 What to do:

  • Call out your ideal client in your headline (e.g., “Freelancers, need a website that sells?”).

  • Address their pain points—show them you get their struggles.

  • Use their language. Skip the jargon and write like they talk.

2. Make Your Offer Clear in Seconds ⏳

Visitors decide in seconds whether to stay or leave. Don’t make them guess what you do.

👉 What to do:

  • Your homepage headline should state what you do and who you help in ONE sentence.

  • Keep your subhead simple: explain the benefit of working with you.

  • Cut the fluff—nobody reads long, vague paragraphs.

3. Focus on Benefits, Not Just Features 🚀

People don’t buy what you do—they buy what it does for them.

👉 What to do:

  • Instead of “Our CRM has automation,” say, “Save 10+ hours a week with automated follow-ups.”

  • Show how your service makes their life easier, better, or more profitable.

  • Use bullet points to highlight quick wins.

4. Use Social Proof to Build Trust 🌟

People trust people. Testimonials, reviews, and case studies prove you’re legit.

👉 What to do:

  • Feature short, specific client testimonials on key pages.

  • Show real results with numbers, e.g., “Helped 100+ businesses increase conversions by 42%.”

  • Include logos of past clients (if applicable) for instant credibility.

5. End with a Strong Call-to-Action (CTA) 🛑➡️

Your visitors won’t take action unless you tell them exactly what to do next.

👉 What to do:

  • Use clear, action-oriented CTAs (e.g., “Book a Free Call,” not “Learn More”).

  • Make your CTA buttons stand out (high contrast color, bold text).

  • Repeat your CTA throughout the page—people rarely act on the first ask.
